The emotional response to Becky’s voice testifies to the truth behind the words she sings. Whether she is in front of a crowd of thousands or a small group, she sings with heartfelt passion and intensity. A natural born entertainer, she has graced many a stage since the age of five and brought countless audiences to tears with her soulful voice.
Following 9/11, Becky co-wrote and recorded a CD single entitled 911/Angel and performed at Ground Zero for the crew in charge of recovery and clean-up. After a lengthy tour of performances to over 200 FDNY firehouses, FDNY headquarters, NYC hospitals and funerals of The Fallen combined, Becky began to receive requests from across the country to perform. In 2002, Becky was honored to share the stage with Governor Grey Davis at the California Firefighter’s Monument Dedication in a performance commemorating fallen firefighters throughout history.
Desiring new direction in her life, Becky moved to Bavaria, Germany in 2003, and was privileged to be the guest artist with the Uli Swingers Choir of Starnberg. During that time, she spent a year in what she likes to refer to as “rediscovery” - learning the German language and culture, making friends from over 20 different countries, songwriting and rediscovering God’s plan for her life. Upon her return from overseas, Becky moved to Austin, Texas and fell in love with the music and ministry at Hyde Park Baptist Church. With the support and mentorship of Fred McNab, Hyde Park’s Minister of Music, Becky finally found a place to call home, as well as a choir family she is passionate about.
Since joining Hyde Park in 2004, Becky’s charismatic and intense desire to share God’s love has touched the lives of many through songs such as Saved, When I Call on Jesus, My Redeemer Lives and I Love the Lord. In May of 2007, she was invited to sing at The Texas Governor’s National Day of Prayer Breakfast where she shared the stage with Governor Rick Perry and well known orator and author Ravi Zacharias.
Becky is now the Artist in Residence at Hyde Park Baptist Church, and currently resides in Round Rock, Texas, with her husband and best friend, Jeremy Shaver. I sing for joy at the works of your hands. Psalm 92:4
